A typical CIMScan system consists of a variety of small, distributed data acquisition controllers and intelligent sensors scattered around a facility. These devices are usually networked to the monitoring system's computer over the customer’s existing TCP/IP LAN. Wireless sensors and both short and long range wireless LAN data links are used when running wires is impractical or costly, adding to the flexibility of CIMScan installations.
