CIMPrint is an easy to configure report generator that acts as a server application with CIMScan to create reports from data and alarm logs.  Depending on what you choose to include, the report may contain data tables, a summary of alarm information, data statistics (max, min, etc.), and a graph showing as many as 14 data values.  If you are using the PRO or greater versions of CIMScan, you can also include the test header information, such as name of test, part number, and operator.

Creating a Print Format

Reports are easily set up in CIMPrint with just a few clicks of the mouse. You pick the page size, margins, number of columns, fonts, and the optional information you want to include (alarm summary, graph, etc.) To make the alarm data stand out, you may print it using a special style, such as bold or underlined. Any time during the report setup, you can click a Preview button to see what it looks like. Once the format meets your approval, you can name it and save it. Then, as you set up logs in CIMScan, you can choose the report format to use when printing the log report. You can print log reports directly from CIMScan using an Action or the File Recall function.

The following is a screenshot of the format specification dialog in CIMPrint.

Different Formats for Each Log Type

Any number of print formats can be created in CIMPrint and a unique tag assigned to each.  A list of all the available tags (formats) is passed to CIMScan whenever the data logging configuration dialog is displayed.  The user can pick a specific format to use when printing each log.  This format tag is automatically passed to CIMPrint whenever a log is automatically printed in CIMScan.  The same mechanism is used to specify a print format when CIMRecall is using CIMPrint to print a report.
